Corey Noyes, CFP®
FOUNDER & LEAD PLANNER
Welcome to Balanced Capital. I have spent my entire career working in the financial services industry, much of which was spent at large wealth management firms. Those big firms do a lot of things right, and I’m grateful for the opportunity I had to learn from them. They also do some things wrong. Balanced Capital, is my way of fixing those things.
Balanced Capital was built to provide modern advice for modern investors. A completely paperless client experience with virtual meetings. A cutting edge mobile app designed to be simple, yet powerful. We strive to offer advice on your entire financial life, not just your investment portfolio. We review your taxes, insurance, employer benefits, and cash flow to create a complete picture of your financial life.
As an independent fee-only advisor, my philosophy is that peak-level financial planning does not need to be complicated. In fact, it should be simple. At Balanced Capital what that looks like is concise reports with clear actionable items, straightforward portfolios with defined objectives, and a simple cost structure that leaves no room for confusion.
I fell in love with Heber City and the Wasatch Back 10 years ago and chose to make it my forever home. You have very likely seen me running in Daniel, Charleston, Midway or Heber with my dog Luna.
Shortly after I got married, my wife introduced me to distance running. As a former offensive tackle, the thought of running for… fun… sounded crazy. (If you’re unclear what an offensive tackle is, think about that Sandra Bullock movie about football.) It took a little time, but now I’m hooked. We try to run at least one half and one full marathon together every year now. I do my best thinking while I’m out running, and many of my ideas and solutions for clients are born somewhere between miles seven and twelve of a Saturday morning run.
I haven’t worn a tie in 9 years, I hate going out for fancy lunches, and the last place I’d ever want to be is a country club. Quite frankly I’ve always felt pretty out of place in the financial industry. Because I tend to be more laid back than my prior firm wanted me to be, I really had trouble fitting in. So I had a choice. I could change, and mold myself into what is expected. Or I could rewrite the playbook, and build a firm that allows me to be who I am, and provide the type of experience my clients deserve. I will forever be grateful I chose the latter.
